1. Group Functional Strength
Bodysmart Group Functional Strength classes are high intensity, dynamic, challenging, safe, physio-guided exercise sessions run in the custom Bodysmart Gym. These circuit style classes include a combination of cardio and strength exercises, all designed by the instructing physiotherapist. In these classes, you’ll be using cable machines, rigs, pulleys, dumbbells, weight bars, plyometrics, rowers, kettle bells, power bands and other gym equipment to condition your entire body. These sessions will also improve your core stability, mobility, agility, fitness, endurance and strength. As you rotate your way through 12 stations (45 seconds of intense work, 10 seconds of rest) you can expect an elevated heart rate AND TO SWEAT! These sessions are best suited to those that are at the advanced stage of injury recovery or are symptom-free.
2. Group Reformer Pilates
Bodysmart Reformer Pilates Classes are action packed classes that incorporate a repertoire of exercises all performed on the specialised Pilates Reformer machines. These classes are most suited to those with some Pilates experience who are pain free (a progression from ‘Clinical Reformer Pilates’) and/or those who want to improve their core strength, condition their body, improve their fitness and feel the BURN! In each class, you have the option to modify the resistance of the machines to increase or decrease the intensity of each exercise. You WILL discover muscles you never knew you had!
3. Group Mat Pilates
Bodysmart Mat Pilates classes include a combination of strength and flexibility exercises using mats, balls, weights, bands, magic circles, foam blocks and rollers to train, tone and condition your entire body. Technique is key in these classes, so feel free to take it slow. Your physio instructor will guide you through a series of Pilates exercises using the various small apparatus. ‘General mat’ sessions are best suited to those new to Pilates or are recovering from injury. ‘Advanced mat’ sessions are best for experienced Pilates clients at the advanced stage of injury recovery, or are symptom-free.

Step 1: Attend a 1:1 Assessment / Instruction session
We start with a 1:1 assessment/instruction session where a physiotherapist will assess your movement patterns, mobility and flexibility. The physiotherapist will teach you the basics and ensure you are ready to start the classes. This assessment is claimable through your Private Health fund if you have physiotherapy cover.
Step 2: Progress to physiotherapist supervised group sessions
Once you have mastered the key skills, you can participate in the group sessions. Your physiotherapy instructor will continue to keep a close eye on your form and technique.
Most private health funds pay a rebate under HICAPS code 561 (Group Physio Consultation).
